Here we go again. Take a look at Empty desks symbolize lives lost to gun violence - CNN.com

I hate when people insult my intelligence.

    1. Lady in the pic with the "common sense" banner - You can have ALL the laws in the world. Criminal do not give a banana about them.

    2. "busloads of teens skipped classes to attend a gun-control rally -- their absences sanctioned by the district," - If I want to rally for my 2A rights (why should I if it it's a right) I have to take a personal/vacation day.

    3. "Among the gun-control measures rally participants demanded were a limit of one gun purchase a month" - Criminal do not give a banana about it either.

    4. "renewal of the federal assault weapon ban" - students are dying because of handguns, not ar15s, AKs, SKS or anything similar

    5. National Rifle Association lobbyist Todd Vandermyde said Chicago "has some of the strictest gun control in the nation ... They said this was going to solve the crime problem, and their panacea hasn't done anything but disarmed law-abiding citizens," - perfect remarks. No law can solve this problem.

    6. Several students at the rally expressed worries that no amount of gun control would keep gang members from acquiring guns. "They'll always find a way" said Tiara Irby, 17 - excellent and objective comment from this young lady.

I think we should have a rally against dog violence. Remeber the stats that were posted on here about a dog being 52 times more likely to harm a family member than a firearm. The only way we could get a "dog violence" rally is if it were against the dreaded "Pit Bull". Its always the media hype that controls the masses.

They're getting desperate...they can feel the vise of the rest of the country slowly squeezing them to death. They'll be the last hold outs, but liberty will finally come to Chicago.

It's amazing to me how the "antis" think promulgating yet another round of gun-restriction laws will affect the amount of gun violence in the streets.

They just can't seem to wrap their pointy little empty heads around the fact that criminals, due to the fact that they don't obey laws, are not going to be dissuaded from breaking a few more gun-restricting laws and stop using guns to commit violence.

It's like passing a law that mandates not breathing, and expecting everyone to hold their breath indefinitely...

No matter what hard evidence is put in front of them, the gun grabbers still can't see past the media frenzy, and their own emotions. England, Australia, The District Of Columbia, California, Illinois, Wisconsin, New York City are all perfect examples of why gun control only affects the law abiding people.

I agree that anti-defense folks can spew some rather inaccurate information, or not take everything into account. For instance, if they already have some of the strictest gun control measures, and those measures are the answer, why doesn't their crime rate reflect it?

But I also noticed that they have installed huge quantities of cameras in the local schools. While I can understand the need for (some) surveillance, I can't help but worry that this will ease our youth into the idea of pervasive United Kingdom type camera installations.

I mentioned in a previous thread a while back that we should hold one of these rallies. Empty desk or have people lie down "dead" to show the number of people that have died in the "gun free" zones.
