    I knew you could!
Do your research. Nixon told one and only one lie while in office and that was not under oath. His lie was: "...the White house had conducted its own internal investigation of the Watergate break-in and found that no White House personnel had been involved." from High Crimes and Misdemeanors pp 15 by Ann Coulter.

"This lie was was the first article of impeachment voted on by the Rodino committee." from High Crimes And Misdemeanors pp 16 by Ann Coulter.

I find it funny that all of the lies Clinton was caught in didn't seem to matter during his own impeachment process.

If you can come up with any other Nixon lies let's hear 'em.

What a dirtbag, but then again all politicians will do or say whatever they think will benifit them politically.

i'm not so up to speed on politics and speaker/house rep terms, etc, etc. But does anyone know when he will be eligible to be booted out of office?

State representatives must stand for reelection every two years, so he is up this year. His constituents, however, are very satisfied at having the most powerful member of the House, so it is unlikely they will "un-elect" him. Our only hope, IMO, is that the other members of his party are sick of him and do not reelect him as Speaker. I am not, however, going to hold my breath....

My first thought is "not a chance in hell." But who knows, stranger things have happened.

It isn't a surprise though is it? Naifeh is a real big chunk of solid waste.

I long for the day that the headline int he paper reads "Statesman Naifeh" as I read it over my morning Oat Meal.

TN Naifeh out of the Speaker of the House position? Do not bet on it...

    Tennessee Republican Party |

HISTORY! REPUBLICANS WIN MAJORITY IN STATE HOUSE, SENATE, FOR FIRST TIME SINCE RECONSTRUCTION

Tennessee Turns a Deeper Shade of Red
NASHVILLE – Tennessee turned a deeper shade of red Tuesday as Republican victories in state legislative races increased the party’s majority in the state Senate and gave Republicans a majority in the state House for the first time since 1968.

For the first time since Reconstruction, Republicans hold a majority in both houses of the Tennessee General Assembly.

“The election of a Republican majority in the General Assembly is historic in its own right, and even more so given the strong Democratic tide across much of the country,” said Robin Smith, Chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party. “Our victories send a national message that Republican values still resonate with mainstream America. The power of a consistent conservative Republican message - low taxes, small government and respect for life - once again demonstrated its power to attract a majority.”

Republicans held a majority in the state House for two years after the 1968 election, but had not held a majority in the state Senate since Reconstruction until the 2006 election.

“We are indebted to our great volunteers across Tennessee and to the people of Tennessee for this historic achievement,” Smith said

Now I have heard that Naifeh has brokered deals with some Repubs that will allow him to retain his Speaker position. Remember the Naifeh republicans?

We all better call our state rep and tell him Naifeh's time is up. I heard on the radio all the Republican reps pledged to vote for a Republican speaker if we won the majority. Time to hold them to it!

Here is a copy of my letter to Dolores Gresham and her reply.....

Not as strong as I would like.......

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for your good wishes! We will be working very hard to put together a governing team that everyone can be proud of!
    Dolores

    Subject: Speaker of the House

Congratulations on your victory Tuesday. It was a bright spot on a otherwise dismal Wednesday to find out that Tennessee is leading the way AGAINST bigger government by electing a conservative Republican legislature. I was also pleased to hear Robin Smith comment that Republican members understood the necessity of unity when electing leadership. It is with this in mind I sincerely hope that Representative Naifeh has no chance at arm twisting his way into the Speaker's chair. Please do all you can to help in that effort.

Again congratulations and I look forward to supporting your efforts

I'm kicking this back to the top as NO ONE from TN other than me has said they have written, or emailed their Rep. Do we really need him in office AGAIN to keep messing with us?

I wrote Senator Tracey about Republicans in general doing what they were elected to do and governing.

Unfortunately, the voters in my House district decided to return the appalling Kent Coleman (D), NRA F, to the state house. He is one of Naifeh's proteges. I am unlikely to convince him not to vote for the equally appalling Naifeh.

As the Republicans now control the State Senate and House, I am very hopeful that Naifeh's days in charge are coming to an end.

Maybe then we can get the restaurant carry law changed and some other pro 2A laws enacted before the Socialist in Chief of the USSA starts screwing stuff up on a Federal level.

There was a meeting of conservative republicans today in Nashville. Rep. Jim Coley was not with his wife at church this morning so I ask if he was still getting over Nov. 4th. She told me that a group of them were meeting to start planning their attac...er, um...strategy for the next few weeks. I asked her specifically about Mr. N but she was unsure as to what the pow wow was about but she was hopeful that plans were being made to find Mr. N a seat in the back of the bus. Hope there is a Change in the life of Mr. N.

In my district Sherry Jones ran unopposed. I had to skip that office on my ballot, I simply refuse to vote for her ... my wife said the exact same thing. As to Naifeh's tenure, we can only hope it's coming to an end but I have an uneasy feeling he'll somehow hold onto his gavel.

It'd be nice to have dinner in a real restaurant without having to leave my weapon out in the car.
