Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton told Montana reporters Friday that she no longer favors national handgun registration and licensing, even as she supports such measures in her adopted state of New York.

"What I came out for was the New York law," the U.S. senator said in a noon conference call Friday. "I don't think there is any contradiction between defending Second Amendment rights and trying to keep guns out of the hands of" criminals and the mentally ill.

Not that I believe it...another politician's lips are moving. And, of course, why are the citizens of New York second-class citizens in her mind?

I posted this not to create a political discussion, but merely to highlight the interesting-to-me fact that, at this juncture, her campaign believed this was a wise thing to announce.

I think most folks would agree with this statment on the surface. The problem is that folks like Hillary want to adjudicate everyone as a "potential" criminal or mental patient and therefore prevent us from having weapons.

The Brady Bunch sent a letter around a few months ago to all state legislators asking for them to sponsor bills that would require ammunition serial numbers and registration of ammunition purchases along with some other nonsense. The letter referred to anyone purchasing ammunition as a, "potential criminal". My boss tossed the letter before I could retrieve it. Would have been great to hold onto!

She and Obama are trying to get the Indian vote in Montana, The Indians have been disarmed once and have no desire of it happening again. We have long memories that pass down over the generations. She had to do something since Obama has now been "adopted" by some of the Crow tribe. For once the Indian vote in Montana means something.
