While I don't believe every Repub/Conservative is pro gun and every dem/liberal is anti, it's not out a line to generalize here.

I don't think I will ever be able to vote for a candidate that doesn't believe that our 'right to bear arms should not be infringed'.
That excludes just about every dem there is.

Don't know about going overboard, just happy someone is looking at removing many vets from the "can not purchase" category. I'm not a strict party line voter. There are those in both parties that want to protect all rights and those that think they know more than the public. There are more pro 2A dems than you may think, you just have to check their records and see how they vote in all interested areas. Granted there may be a higher percentage of republicans that are pro 2A.

    I'm a Viet Vet.
This is the crap we got all over again.
All returning vets are mentally unstable.
    They're all baby killing psychos.

Now every time I hear this stuff or read it I do something and fast. My local newpaper is getting sick and tired of me.

    * Voted NO on decreasing gun waiting period from 3 days to 1. (Jun 1999)
    * Rated A by the NRA, indicating a pro-gun rights voting record. (Dec 2003)

I agree with you. There are liberals hiding behind the title of republican, and some conservative democrats(ok maybe a couple only). I can say though I have voted Republican 99% of the time. I can only once ever recall voting for a democrat and that was when I was living Nebraska for Ben Nelson who was endorsed by the NRA. Other then him though that is it, voted GOP everyone else just because they are usually pro gun, at least when I lived in NE and here in TX.
