What is Obama up to? You ask

Obama intends to set gun rights back 50 years. His National No Carry Initiative is intended to end the progress made for 10 years on CCW rights. His gun a month limits (see limits) is quietly intended to shut down the industry. (The government can't track 35 million illegals, but they can track the purchases of 85 million gun owners?). He intends to eliminate all gun show sales (McCain would impose background checks there, which would virtually eliminate non dealers from shows, not good, but not as bad as OBAMA).

OBAMA launched from the worst gun State in America (Hawaii), and landed in the most totalitarian, anti-gun County in the U.S. (Cook County and the radical anti-gun Chicago crowd).

He claims that he will "re-institute the assault ban" (which means bayo lugs and collapsible stocks), mouthing the Liberal Left mantra that has NO understanding of either the idiocy of the previous ban or the difference between Country and City on gun use. If 85 million gun owners do not arise to SOUNDLY DEFEAT this chameleon, we're in for 4 years of 2nd Amendment Hell, and with his Supreme Court appointees, the possibility of turning into a hedonistic Left Socialist State with no fear of God and heavy government controls. His comment about "frightened conservatives clinging to God and guns" says it all! He has no real respect for religion, and is a heavy tax, destroy business, far left throwback to a long gone age of heavy-regulation and Carter gas lines that is best forgotten!

What choice do we have? Vote for McCain, or the nightmare begins...

Remember the old Star Trek episode where Kirk has to let a peace loving woman he loves die before WWII, because her ideas of peace were the right idea at the wrong time? "Negotiating" with Iran equals a NUKE in a major US city, make no mistake. These Iranian hypocrites want to vaporize Israel, the second holiest spot in Islam-- so where are they REALLY coming from?! Like Iraq, Obama just doesn't GET it... IF YOU COULD ASK OBAMA TO READ JUST ONE THING, THIS would be it:

A LITTLE GUN HISTORY

Dear Obama, if you have ANY sense at all . . .

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about

20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.

------------------------------

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million
Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

------------------------------

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of
13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded
up and exterminated.

------------------------------

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million
political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.

------------------------------

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan
Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

------------------------------

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000
Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

------------------------------

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million
educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.

-----------------------------

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because
of gun control: 56 million.

------------------------------

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new
law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own
government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million
dollars. The first year results are now in:

List of 7 items: Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent Australia-wide, armed robberies
are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300
percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the
criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed
robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12
months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the
ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety
has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in
successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience
and the other historical l f acts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians
disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes,
gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of
this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens'.

Without them, we are 'subjects'.

In RECENTLY RELEASED documents, an astonishing fact has come to light: During WWII the Japanese had a DISTINCT and URGENT plan to bomb and invade the U.S., and decided not to invade America because they knew
most Americans were ARMED! TERRORISTS, and Senator Obama: TAKE NOTE!

Amen, Brother!

Now we just need to round up every gun owner and go vote; unlike other elections in recent history, this one is shaping up to the perfect storm for America and our way of life. For the first time in recent history, our country could potentially be controlled by one political party in its entirety, from both houses of Congress and the White House.

That in and of itself is a scary thought. That our people would cast aside the very checks and balances our framers built into our government by electing members of one political party to control everything, and shift it into a socialist direction.

PLEASE EVERYONE GET OUT AND VOTE, BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T WE WILL FACE DIRE CONSEQUENCES.......

Half of all gun owners do not vote.

Certainly some go to the polls uninformed.

We must spread the word.

NOW is the time to come out of the gun closet and let other gun owners know that this guy is 100x worse than klinton ever aspired to be.

May God help us all. The weak minded are the majority, and no matter how many of us turn out for the polls, evil will prevail. It has been written. Be ready. Talk is worthless now.........actions? They should have been done a long time ago when it meant something....as of today, they have little effect. Now we know it's too late. All we can do is wallow in our sorrow and ask how, why. We've failed in our attempts. It's realistic. Pat yourselves on the back.

The SCOTUS appointments will be the most important.
Bingo...we have a winner here!:cheerleader1:
This is the TRUE prize of the election.:yup:

Stay armed...vote...get every conservative you know to vote...stay safe!

when i lived in NY, my vote meant absolutely nothing as some ignorant moron canceled mine out.

(The government can't track 35 million illegals, but they can track the purchases of 85 million gun owners?)
goes to show ya where their priorities are. I honestly do not believe the govt. cares one bit about illegal immigration, esp. the crew we have in congress right now. these 36 million are a voting block for them, not against them like 85 million gun owners are.

IMO - At some point, the United States, on US soil, will be attacked by some type of WMD. Who leads this country plays a part. The greater factor is our way of life (the good & the bad) and the advancement and proliferation of weapons (both the knowledge and deployment).

Regardless of who is President, I don't want to blame one or another just because they are in office at the time. For example is 9/11 all on the shoulders of Bush. Some will say no, Clinton. Then does that mean that the next president can blame Bush if something happened. The terrorist (or foreign state) is to be held accountable.

I make no other defense of Obama, esp concerning gun rights. During the primaries, he out right lied concerning his view points by pleading ignorance about the Supreme Court / DC case. He is a lawyer, law professor, and had similar resolutions in process in IL. He was very aware of the issues.

I would say gun-rights are not the only issues that determine my vote, but on the other issues I will not mention on this forum / thread, I do not agree on as well.

This is a very difficult election for me. In many ways I wish McCain was commander-in-chief on 9/11. He is a greater Citizen then I am. However in 2008, I'm not sure I can vote for either. For me, 4th on the list is gun-rights (if I was forced to make a list), and I do not consider McCain (who is a great American) to be a champion of the 2nd. This is the first ever time, after 18 years of voting, I may not vote for President.

As far as donations, I may just get a lifetime membership to the NRA.

Obama choice in a VP assured (if there was ever a question) he will not get my vote. McCain's choice in VP is about the only factor left for me to consider. Lieberman would be an odd choice, not pro-gun, but something I would have to think about. If it is Mitt Romney or an affluent corporate crony, I will not vote (for President) this year.

I reserve he right to change my mind :)

If you really want to make changes - CHANGE THE HOUSE & THE SENATE!!!!!!!!!! POTUS is important, but nothing will change until the idiots in Congress are tossed!

#17 ·
Well, ALL votes count and by NOT voting, you are giving away a vote to the other side. Neither candidate is prefect, but I view McCain as the lesser of two evils. Since one or the other WILL be the next president, I'll choose the more desirable of the two, not just sit back and wash my hands of the matter because I don't agree with everything they say or stand for. Obama has nothing that impresses me and most of what he has to say concerns me. Therefore, McCain will get my vote and I hope enough to win this upcoming election.

"America is the most heavily armed nation in the world. U.S. citizens own 270 million of the world’s 875 million known firearms — 90 guns for every 100 citizens", according to a 2007 survey by the Geneva-based Graduate Institute of International Studies

Lets keep it that way. Every Vote Counts.

I have a problem where I vote for X, and since most of the people from my state vote for Y the electoral college votes for Y. My vote doesn't count, it also allows where the majority votes for X, but the college can vote Y. This happened a few years ago when Gore won the popular vote and lost the election.

I bet if you go to California, NY and yes my state of NJ the majority are not liberal anti-gunners, just the controlling politicians are.

Thanks to the electoral college system. Can you imagine what the outcome of the recent Supreme Court decision on the 2nd Amendment would have been if Gore had gotten his choice of justices on the Court?

I bet if you go to California, NY and yes my state of NJ the majority are not liberal anti-gunners, just the controlling politicians are.
I think that state politicians are elected by majority vote. It would appear that the majority of voters in those states have sided with the liberal anti-gun politicians.

#25 ·
To be honest, I don't remember hearing any of the last candidates in NJ talk about gun control although I wish they had / would.
Another good reason to join the NRA. They do a very good job of keeping us informed about our local politicians' position on the 2nd Amendment, and other gun related issues.

The Electoral college has its purpose, as has been stated previously.

As far as Gore winning the popular vote, that is not true. That is why Gore called for numerous recounts, to try and "find" the missing votes. The SCOTUS stepped in and stopped it simply because there is nothing in the CONUS that says you have to.

I remember reading a book about a fellow Texan of mine that used the same trick of recounting "suddenly found" ballot boxes to win an election. The incident had tremendous ramifications for the country because that individual eventually became one of our worst Presidents ever in terms of government programs.

The incident is known to us Texans as the "Box 13" scandal that occurred in Duval county. It was perpetrated by one of the most corrupt Democrat party bosses in history, George Parr who committed suicide during his trial on political corruption in the '70s.

The man he helped elect who eventually became President?

Lyndon Baines Johnson, one of the most corrupt politicians in history.

The Electoral College is big, important, and one small thread of liberty for those of us that care about it.

Since the union is made of 50 states, the EC keeps things as fair as possible *to the 50 states*. Essentially, each state gets to vote.
Stopping before we got too far OT-

To add to my previous post, there is a book about the very events I described; it is titled "the rise and fall of the duke of duval". I read this book several years ago and was aghast at the depth and scope of the corruption that the investigators uncovered. Not only was George Parr responsible for the election of LBJ, he systematically looted the county treasury for over 40 years, building an elaborate home, building a horse-racing track on his sons' property complete with a multimillion dollar irrigation system, and the los horcones ranch, which was completely funded by stolen county tax money.

And all this was made possible by the old Democrat party. That is why i love hearing my liberal relatives talk about returning their democrat party to the old ways, to which I respond all the more reason to keep voting republican.....

Now i dont want a fight here but honestly Obama has had almost nothing to do with HI politics . Now his chicago assocations are or record , but dont expect to see them on tv .

OBAMA launched from the worst gun State in America (Hawaii), and landed in the most totalitarian, anti-gun County in the U.S. (Cook County and the radical anti-gun Chicago crowd).
HI is not and should not be an issue hrere , Mr " i am poor " obama just spent some time in the srurf there before he went to his ivy league school . We tend to forget that HI is a real state , It has an active and viable ag base . Some of us ( i would not want to say political types seem to feel it is a two issue state , one of them is keeping tourests from the mainland coming , and the other keeping the natives paid off enough .
