This is a discussion on John McCain Endorsement/Dear Mr. Obama within the The Second Amendment & Gun Legislation Discussion forums, part of the Related Topics category; YouTube - Dear Mr. Obama...
Interesting...While I respect the man who can stand up and say what he believes; personally I have no opinion of whether or not to be in Iraq, I do have an opinion on what the Supreme law of the land is, the Constitution. This document states that ONLY CONGRESS can declare war. The President, otherwise known as the Commander in Chief, cannot declare war, only conduct so when told to do so by Congress. Therefore, the war that we are in right now, it illegal par the Constitution.
Better to die on your feet, than to live on your knees.
Congress did approve it..... it was a landslide.... approving him to use military action. Remember how Obama keeps saying he didn't vote for it ?
Did ya miss it ?
Yeah I'm confused.
Hillary and a whole raft of people voted for the war. It was a not small affair that was discussed for nearly a year.

I look at it this way....
As long as we are fighting there, we're not fighting here......

Janq & Eagleks, you are talking about funding of a military action.
Jackle1886 brings up an important issue. However Jackle1886, just because a "Declaration of War" was not "declared" does not = illegal war. Look it up in more detail.
