"Thugocracy" is right, I don't know how we as a great nation ever got to this place in history. I for one really fear for my country and our rights. Don't know what it's going to take to reverse course but I'm afraid it's going to get ugly. The sad thing is we are all Americans and the divide is deepening. I can't understand why they just don't read the Constitution and leave my weapons alone. I almost feel like we are on the verge of a civil war.

This SOB scares me not only because of 2A issues, but there is a huge laundry list of reasons. Take a look a IL., why in the world would we even consider a leader from that horrid state? Oh well, buy beans and bullets we are in for a long ride down the marxist slide. First attack is going to be on our guns.

Absolutely, and furthermore, the media is so biased they are aiding and abetting the lies!

    Too true!!
I saw Lou Dobbs laugh and go to commercial the other night when
a guest said the word "socialism".
    It happened instantaneously.
I turned him off just as fast.

Yesterday I received the latest issue of the NRA magazine America's First Freedom. The issue is almost entirely devoted to Obama's anti-gun position. As I was reading it, my wife took note of it and made the following comment: "It's too bad that the magazine is directed exclusively to NRA members, it is like preaching to the choir."

Of course she is correct. I dare say that few here are swayed by the anti-gun propaganda that flows from the liberal left, but neither do I believe that the information put out by the NRA would ever be taken seriously by that same liberal left.

I also believe that there are many in this nation who own guns that haven't bothered to really look into the political aspects of this election as it pertains to the preservation of the 2nd Amendment, and the consequences of electing a government that would seek to place draconian restrictions on our rights. I fear that if the polls are correct we are in for a rough road ahead.

Make sure you budget a weekly or monthly allowance for ammunition purchases. Better make sure you stay well stocked and build up a surplus. Nobody had ever lost a battle by bringing too much ammunition, or too many guns.

Well, he did say that even if he wanted to take our guns, he couldn't because he doesn't have enough votes in Congress. We have to make sure we keep it that way. This is going to be a tough battle. Of course, we can always hope for a miracle on November 4th.

Obama is smart enough to realize that the rhetoric and attacks on gun ownership in the last two elections made the difference between winning and losing the Presidency.

The rest of the gun controllers have been slow to catch on, but they are beginning to realize that there are a lot of voters out there that own guns and that many of them will simply not tolerate the notion of giving up more rights, and that any dialog in that area only serves to put votes in the others camp.

Its no news to anyone that has an inkling of a clue that Obama has never been anything other than a rabid anti-gun fanatic and his record proves this many times.

Sixto hit the nail on the head. Why would anyone even think of voting for anyone from Illinois, now considered to be the most anti gun state in the nation? Its people like Obama that made it so.

But what is even worse than being anti-gun, is the mentality that goes with it. He is anti-self defense. He doesn't believe that me or you or your loved ones have the right to self defense. He thinks that the Police and Military only should have guns and he thinks that they will be there to take care of you. Thats is his official policy line anyways.

The concept of personal responsibility is as foreign to him and his kinfolk in Kenya are.

I've always said that there are two types of gun banners. Those that act from ignorance and those that know exactly what they are doing. It is my personal opinion that Obama is far from ignorant. He knows exactly what he is doing. He plans to align himself and the government with the ideals of the United Nations, and he will use the "global mandates" of the U.N. as the excuse for doing things that would have most citizens of this country squalling like mashed cats.

Most of us know that the U.N. is the most anti- American organization on earth. As gun owning Americans that typically have more freedom to lose than any other nation on the planet, anything that we do in conjunction with them only serves to lower our standards of living, and the way of life that we now enjoy.

Obama knows that the U.N. wants to outlaw private ownership of arms throughout the world, but that they have been unsuccessful in getting the U.S.A. to fall in line, like Canada, England, Australia and even Switzerland have recently. Obama has aligned himself with the U.N. and knows to keep his mouth shut about it.

To me its a no brainier, but its obvious that many people in this country have no brains.

You would think that the Republicans would be smart enough to exploit this small fact, but they clearly aren't doing it and that says something in itself right there.

It pains me to agree with you. Too many people in this country are either too afraid to think for themselves, or too afraid of what other people will think of them if they think for themselves...

There is an old saying about muscles that may soon apply to firearms - "Use em or lose em". I certainly hope that it never comes to that but isn't that the reason the founding fathers thought we needed the 2nd Amendment?

Absolutely, protection from an oppressive government is one of the intentions. I would bring my arms up in that case, i only hope i don't have to.

What has surprised me through this Presidential campaign, is, that McCain-Palin havent promoted their views on gun ownership. There are millions of legally owned guns in America and millions of households that are armed. Those are voters. I think McCain and Palin should be reminding Americans that the Second Ammendment is certainly in jeopardy with the Obama party. They need to get the attention of gun owners here in America. Spend some advertising money proving that the Obama plan is to disarm Americans. Everyone seems to be so concerned about the economy and energy that the topic of gun ownership will just slide by unoticed. Thats what Obama wants. As long as our current Supreme Court Justices stay on the bench, I think we have a dog in the fight. If Obama wins, and gets a second term, we all may be in trouble. Then, who cares about the economy and energy. <head shaking>
