More wasted taxpayer funds trying to defend the indefensable.

I was stationed in Great Lakes just up North of Chicago in 1986/87. I remember going down to Chicago a couple of times and always being amazed at what a cruddy, dirty, disgusting city it was. I would NEVER live there.

I was born and raised in Indiana, my home town being just an hour or so from the IN/IL state line. It is an amazing difference in attitude between Indiana and Illinois.

I'm not sure the taxpayer's money is being wasted here. If we get the 2nd amendment incorporation, we won't come away empty handed.

Apparently you've never been to New York.

FWIW, there is a case working its way through the courts that could provide the Heller incorporation we're all looking for.

Oral Argument scheduled in Nordyke - Calguns.net

It's gone through the CA courts and is now into the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Oral arguments are scheduled for Jan. 15, 2009 so it's pretty well on its way.

As CA doesn't explicitly have a RKBA in the state constitution, this is critical for CA residents. (Our state constitution does declare that the federal constitution is the prevailing law of the land. Subject to interpretation, I'm sure...)

No, we are all not looking for an abrogation of state's rights.

The Ninth? They will certainly not reverse California law, nor should they.

Did you ever think of amending the CA constitution rather than whining to the courts? It was successfully amended just last month.

How can a state, that has been accepted into the Union, DENY any part of the constitution, including the ratified amendments? This shouldn't even be brought to court - it is a "duh, it's constitutional."

And you know what's scary? This kind of thinking is heading to our Nation's capital as we write, read, and discuss on this website.

No one denies that the Federal government cannot infringe on the right to keep and bear arms.

This shouldn't even be brought to court
    On this we completely agree.
