I will not be a victim

Owning a gun AND HAVING THE RIGHT TO PROTECT YOURSELF is your given America right. I have just been granted a Class A LTC w/ no restrictions and I could not be happier.....here's why

When I was 18 IN BROAD DAY LIGHT I was grabbed by a very large man who was accompanied by two of his large male friends..and I was assaulted and thank god I lived to tell about it.....if it happens again I will be prepared and no one will ever lay a hand on me.

To me, not owning a gun for protection is pretty much telling the world " I will be a victim, I'm not prepared, kill me". Every day is a mystery and you never know what will happen..why should you accept the risk of dying?

That day I got grabbed I was just out for lunch with my two friends a great day, I never suspected that with in hours I'd be laying on the floor screaming for him not to touch me.

And the truth is, a gun will stop someone. Saying, "Oh no please don't" will not.

When it comes down to it, if it's between my life and the intruders; it's going to be theirs that gets taken

It saddens me that you had to endure the physical and mental trauma of the attack. It also saddens me that until you had to go through all of that you didn't realize how vulnerable you really were.

Now you know and you have taken steps to protect yourself because you KNOW that the police cannot and will not protect you.

One thing I feel obligated to point out is that the "gun" is not your protection. It is only the tool you will use. Your real protection is your newfound strength to fight to survive. That means using your wits and not your muscles.

Get motivated. Get smart. Get training. Get going and live to grow old.

Becoming a "victim" is never by choice.

Choosing how to act when the opportunity presents itself is.

    Welcome.

I wish my wife and daughter had your attitude about self defense and the importance of a firearm.

I'm sorry you were assaulted in the past. I'm glad you have taken steps to assist you in overcoming another assault.

It is your right to not be assaulted. Good job on doing what it takes to enforce that right.

The world is evil. Now you know it full well. Evil may appear not only when we are in public, but evil can also come to our homes. I hope you are equally prepared for an attempted assault at your home.

    Welcome. Good job.

As one whom has seen firsthand the results of such an attack and treated the victims, I totally agree with your response. If half of them had the capability to defend themselves, I would not have been there for them, but for the attacker and hopefully it would have been "Yep, SOB is dead"
    Stay safe.

And unfortunately there are a few states that will deny you the permit to carry unless you go through what you did, and still others(Brady Bunch) will try to convince people that a gun will never help and you should always give in to the attacker.

Just had my wife read this also...

Not just the men, the women as well. I suppose a woman should just "give in" to a rapist who will then beat her nearly to death (or more likely, all the way TO death) afterwards?

Sometimes I wonder if these Brady women will ever, to use a female-community phrase, "put on their big-girl panties" and grow up.

I am a woman, not a man.... I'm just saying that this time I will be prepared.... I know being a victim isn't a choice, but when I was unarmed there was no choice...they were 3 huge guys who wayyyyy outweighed me and I had no tool to help....my arms can only go so far before those get grabbed too.

Maybe being a victim isn't a choice, but preparing yourself for danger is.

Thanks for all the support guys :) and I hope you guys stay safe too!!

You need to tell your story, Yell it out from the roof tops.

Shout down those who say that if you resist you will only make it worse.

Let people know that evil can not be reasoned with, but must be confronted. Your story is important and maybe it can convince some other woman to be prepared so that she will not have to suffer what you did.

Most people don't realize police are there to protect you from criminals after they have committed a crime, which means there is usually already a victim. It's your responsibility to keep from becoming a victim. I'm so sorry you had to learn that the way you did. Keep your SA up and never let a scumbag get close enough to make you and yours a victim.

Bravo!! I salute you for your decision. I'm so sorry for what happened to you. There has to be a special place in hell for the animals who would hurt someone that way.
