Well now that she is junior Senator from NY we have one more Pro-Gun Democrat in the voting column. I heard McCarthy is pissed off. She is contemplating a run in 2010.
One more step and it's on!

The son of McCarthy lives around the corner from me. I see him walking in the warmer months. I often wonder what would have happen it somebody on that train was CCing?

I dont think anybody where would have a problem if the law in NY or elsewhere stated" Carrying an firearm illegally will result in a 10 year prison term" but after passing a backround check a firearms license will be issued. Everybody here would pass any backround check. Put the BG's in jail for a looong time.

What about the legitimate interests of ordinary folks who want to be able to protect themselves and their families?
I think that she has to be careful as to what she says initially....after she's in a while she can fart through the mouth like Schumer does....I also got the feeling that she wanted to mention Personal Defense but held back and made it the Brady's talking point of 'hunter's rights'. We all know that that is not the case....I have good feelings about her, I hope I'm right.

Well, we have a supporter for awhile.......This is from the WSJ:

Ms. Gillibrand, who was first elected to Congress in 2006, is a former securities lawyer who has the financial background that Mr. Paterson has said he wants in the next senator. However, her support for gun ownership has set in motion a likely primary battle next year, as liberals say they will oppose her in a special election if she seeks to serve the rest of Mrs. Clinton's term.

Well, as a New Yorker, I think we have a good vote in the senate now, and at least a person that is very pro 2A!

So what's the law for N Y Senators in this instance?
According to senate.gov, her term will expire in 2013 unless it's mandatory for there to be a special election in 2010 by NY laws.
