Slightly off topic, but I have made a habit of leaving copies of American Rifleman, Amierican Freedom as well as CD-ROM copies of Aron Russo's film, "America: Freedom to Fascism" at the doctor's office, dentist's office, auto repair, etc., waiting rooms, in hopes of waking up a sheep or two.

    Huh.

Wellllll, I just had to register to reply to the thread starter. I work in the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library. Unless you went to Beech Grove or Speedway (they aren't in our system due to UniGov back in the 70's), the librarian just flat out fibbed.

We have several books on both viewpoints. Admittedly, there are more about guns and violence then there are about guns and rights, but that's reflective of the publishing industry. We *do* have books in the system for gun rights. Here's a few:
"The global war on guns : inside the U.N. plan to destroy the Bill of Rights", "The right to bear arms", "Guns, freedom, and terrorism", "Shooting straight : telling the truth about guns in America", just to name a few.

I am a librarian here and I have a lifetime concealed carry permit (I don't carry on the job, though). Just my two cents here. I do not represent the IMCPL system, just commenting on what you can find with a simple catalog search of "second amendment".

    No flames, plz.

PS: Donations? Yeah, we do the same. In they come and we sell them. Save for a few kids books, that's what happens. :-(

At our Virginia Library they have the magazines "American Rifleman", "Soldiers of Fortune", "American Handgunner", etc. in order by date in the middle of the facility.

    God Bless Virginia!

Head hurts. Do they sell donated books to raise money to buy...books?

And are the donors notified that their donations are being sold?

That's right, our children don't need to know about our rights, they need to be indoctrinated into new thought.

About any library ... shares books with other libraries... ask them to look up the books at any 'sister' libraries they share with and obtain them for you. They are supposed to get the books in and let you know when they are in.

Actually, the money here is used to fund programs, not books. And yeah, on the receipt it says that the material will be sold for funding library programs.

There are a few exceptions. I'll yank out board books for kids and all of the really good copies of the pro-gun periodicals and leave them out for others to "borrow".
