    A proud American Dad moment

I just overheard my 12 yo and 9 yo discussing the amendments to the constitution.

But that isn't the best part, the best part was when my 12 yo told my 9 yo what "to keep and bear arms" meant. He explained to her it means we can "carry guns and stuff". Then he looked at me and said, "Dad, that means President Obama can't take our guns, 'cause then he'd be breaking the constitution; right?"

One more benefit to homeschooling, to comply with the requirement to teach good citizenship, we get to teach AMERICAN citizenship and not just to be a citizen of the World.

Sounds like a step in the right direction.

I had a guy tell me the other day, that at the rate things were going, the next generation had better learn two things...

how to pray and how to shoot...
I would rather stand against the cannons of the wicked than against the prayers of the righteous.

My kids are learning that too. My 12 yo still has a hard time figuring out why I carry to church. I just keep reminding him that evil is everywhere, and it is a coward and will pick the place it thinks it has the most vulnerable people around.

My kids are a little younger, (6,3,1) but I'm working on teaching my 6 year old about guns, and why I carry. He's excited to be old enough that he can carry everyday. Make's a father proud! Way to go Paco!
