CC defeated in Illinois
This morning the Illinois Senate voted down one of 3 pieces of legislation that would have given Illinois residents the right to carry concealed firearms. So once again this legislation is going nowhere this session and is likely a dead issue until we get some pro 2'nd Amendment Senators elected.

Sorry to hear that the Illinois Senate voted down CCW rights. Hopefully there will be a time in the future when there are enough senators who are more "enlightened".
At one point, I was in the USAF stationed at Scott AFB which is located in Belleville, Illinois. I did quite a bit of traveling in that part of the state.

guess they want to ensure citizens have to rely on the gov't for protection and not defend themselves when the attack takes place
too bad

If loose gun laws are good for criminals why do criminals support gun control?

wow that's a shock. you know after a church shooting, we can't have all these rampant guns running wild in IL.

What will it take for those IL politicians to realize the surrounding states all have shall issue carry laws in place, and there is no increase in shootings? A blind person could see that.

I have heard that there is more evidence that concealed carry reduces crime then there is for humans causing global warming. Any odds on what those voting no profess regarding anthropogenic global warming?

Yes, but their CC stands for 'Constant Crap'...

Lou Dobbs on CNN last night said that they did have CC "rights" (more like a privalaged few is more like it.)
I use to live in Maryland (a "may issue" State that's VERY VERY hard to get a CCP) and politicians, lawyers etc could easily get a carry permit... it's about WHO YOU KNOW in places like that, not about personal defense or freedom.

There really isn't really any hope in the near future for IL. - probably the far future too. Another reason, of many, to stay out of that state.
