BG With Guns (Controversial Questions/Opinions)
If the BG couldn’t, as a rule obtain guns, a lot of the anti gun rhetoric would go away. Not all, of course, for sheep are sheep and some things never change.
The question starts with, “Why are there so many easily to obtain guns available to the bad guys?” Where are they coming from? How are they distributed? What can or should be done to stop it?
Lets start with the last question first. The antes, (sheep people, liberals, what ever you choose to call them), would have you believe that banning all guns will solve the problem. Sounds simple enough to a simple mind but there is a couple, three or more problems with it. One, there are literally millions of guns already in circulation. Two, there are plenty of countries more than willing to make and import guns to those with money much like drugs and booze in the 30s. Three, many of the guns and other “dangerous” weapons available are obviously coming from military sources. Look at the Mexican drug cartels. They aren’t getting their full auto weapons, Laws rocket launchers and grenade launchers out of private individuals closets.
There are really only three sources for guns, legal, or illegal. Those that manufacture them, domestic & foreign. Those that transport them, and those that have them. Consisting of private owners or collectors, military, police, and retail outlets.
This brings me to a obvious conclusion. For the most part private owners & collectors cannot be the primary source of illegal weapons. Break into any house and you’ll come up with what? 2, 3? Maybe on a good day 12 useable weapons. No, the vast majority of guns in the hands of the BG are coming from the other sources. As such we need to support reasonable methods of securing these weapons to “reduce” their availability on the streets to the BG.
As I’ve already mentioned banning is not the answer. It just will not work. Forget the obvious conflict with laws and the constitution. It just will keep the good guys from having guns for both sport and protection. Improved weapon security at all levels will be at a cost, a cost paid by us all. Maybe a cost that is in the long run worth the price. I am speaking of a cost in money, dollars, taxes, etc. not a cost in rights.
Even this will not totally resolve the issue though. Even in the 30s the alcoholics found their booze. Today the BG will find their guns like the drug users find their drugs. So is there an answer? Probably not. I believe we are coming to a time shortly when bad answers will be attempted and obviously fail at a cost only to the good guys. In the long run, given where our society has been heading only the education, and arming of the good guys in this expanding war will make any difference at all. BG still fear the masses of armed civilians more than all the government agencies designed to protect us. The BG will always find their guns. They will always be BG. We can only hope to drive them to what they feel is a safer place to do their thing.
