I probably have all the information that was in your local paper. Larry at Georgia Arms sent me copies of some emails that were internal to the company and from Gov. Liquidators. Just because it is on a website or in an email does not necessarily make it so.

I will refer you back to the post I made earlier that has copied text from the NRA website (if you want to look at a website) that basically says any change in policy or misunderstanding of demil classification stems from a decision made last year by the Sec of Defense. Any change in the past week has nothing to do with the current administration, or policies they have enacted.

No one is denying that the DOD at one time had a policy requiring the shell casings be mutilated. The question is who was responsible for that policy? When was the order signed and by whom?
Do we blame Obama if the order was issued by a mid level DOD civillian employee before Obama was sworn in? Do we blame who ever was in the white house when the guy got hired?

That's why I believe we, as lawful gun owners need to be loud and heard often, which I am trying to do.

I think that any "rumor" we hear needs to be addressed promptly. If we wait until it's policy, it will be too late. I do think the Obamessiah picked his cohorts with the intention, not of being middle of the road, but hard left. Look at his past voting record for confirmation.

I can only hope, pray and work to see that I use all legal means at my disposal to foil any and every attempt he wants to make "change". Do I think obama is evil? You bet your behind I do. The look in his eye when he said, "Change is coming;" during his victory speech sent a chill down my spine that is usually reserved for people that are sociopathic.

I cannot convey the depth of my fear of this man, the current president, to you enough. I have seen, and dealt with criminals of every stripe. Only one has effected me as much as our current president. Actually this one effects me less and truth be told, I would've been willing to sit down and have a beer with this man when he was alive, but not our current president.

It has only been a month, more or less. One cannot expect rafts of "proof" in the form of laws, orders or other side-stepping of congressional law to exist after such a short period of time.

I'm a patient person. It's surely coming, simply based on the prior track record and stated opinions of many who are on board, which is all in the public record. There is your proof of intent, at the very least. That, alone, should be enough for circumspection.

IMO, the 2A and all things related to firearms are under attack, and continued attacks will tend to be warmly received. That's what the furor is all about. It's about preparation for the fight that's coming, incrementally though it will likely be. It IS about keeping our wits about us, about keeping on our toes and ensuring we nip in the bud the growing cancerous polyps as they arise. I am note saying ignore them, just saying that they have yet to actually do anything. For an AWB to be passed it has to pass both houses of congress and then BHO gets to sign it. Now with that letter from sixty some Democrats in the house to Holder saying they would oppose any such legislation, how likely do you think it is that we will see an AWB in the near future? Right now they are making it known ( Don't forget even Pelosi made a public statement saying it is not going to happen this session) that Holder and friends are going to have learn to live with their disappointment.

CCW9MM, it has actually been two months since BHO took office. I for one am not asking for "rafts of proof". I am just asking for any proof.
Other than the policy statement which is basically a wish list, can anyone show any action that has been intiated by this administration that infringes on our rights?

ETA: One of the things I love about the articles on WorldNetDaily is that they don't seem to be researched very well. They are amusing but look at them with a critical eye. Does the one Plop linked ever mention the actual origin of the policy change? All I see is them quoting some guy on a blog as saying where he suspected it came from. In real journalism I believe they would have included a paragraph stating when the policy went into effect and under whose order.
In one of their others where talked about the agreement allowing us to be policed by the Canadian Military they linked to some blog in the article but not to the DOD news release they were talking about. So I actually read the agreements they refer to that supposedly allow this to happen. And I found this....

I do not trust Pelosi any further than I can throw her. Pay attention to her words. She will come for your guns when she thinks she can sucessfully accomplish that goal.

No, I didn't talk with Larry. I sent the company an email requesting information about the red default page that they had placed on their website. At the time I sent the email I had found nothing concrete about any change in DoD policy. He then sent me some links to some auctions that said the brass had to be mutilated along with some emails from Gov Liq, and some internal Georgia Arms emails.

We then trade some back and forth which I sent links to Gov Liq auctions that clearly stated that the brass did not require mutilation, along with a copy of the gov. demil codes, which remained as they have been for years. He replied later to that email, and during this time I guess Gov Liq and whomever got things sorted out about what really was a miscommunication IMO regarding brass, because the green default page then appeared on the Georgia Arms website.

The point being is that some auctions were worded one way while other auctions clearly stated that no mutilation was required. Any change in the policy took place in 2008, but honestly I believe there wasn't a real change, simply a misundertanding of some DoD personel that eventually resulted in a weeks worth of panic.

OK, has it gotten "hot" enough for you all yet?

AND it is list like this, alerts from RKBA groups, etc that create the pressure on our elected representatives.

A State Legislator told a group of us that at one time 5-10 letters from constituents got his attention. Now with the internet and email, it takes a couple of hundred.

We need to keep alert, keep on top of things, keep up the pressure.

BTW -- A couple State Legislator have also told me that they pay attention to contacts in that order:
1) personal visits to Richmond;
2) attendance at their town-hall meetings/rallies/etc. ;
3) Snail mail letters;
4) phone calls;
5) original emails;
6) form emails.
