2009 NRA Sybil Ludington Women's Freedom Award

I wanted to let everyone in on an award that I am receiving.

The National Rifle Association has selected me to be the recipient of the "2009 NRA Sybil Ludington Women's Freedom Award". This award is the highest award that the NRA gives to a woman. It is given to one lady per year (none were given last year) who has upheld the ideals of the NRA through Second Amendment activism, legislation and education. This award is given on the national level. I was actually nominated for the state level award, but the NRA bypassed that one to give me this one. This is a HUGE award and I am very honored to be the recipient.

It is very humbling to be amongst the ladies who precede me, as their accomplishments are great! If you don't recognize their names, please take a moment to Google their names.

My name will be attached to this award, but it is not only myself who has earned this honor. My fellow Buckeye Firearms leadership team and my co-instructor Clint Lake have ALL earned this award equally with me. All of these fine, upstanding gentlemen entered my life in 2005. They have all taught me a great deal about legislation, politics, gun rights and education. I am a very privileged lady to have these gentlemen in my life. I will forever be indebted, inspired and in awe of my BFA brothers.

There is an article on Buckeye Firearms website about this. Linda Walker to receive NRA's 2009 Sybil Ludington Women's Freedom Award | Buckeye Firearms Association

    Well deserved, I'm sure, Linda.

    Congratulations!

Congratulations on the award. Well deserved I'm sure. Certainly one to be proud of.
We will be much better off when we learn to deal with things as they really are, instead of how we wish them to be!

Excellent!! We need more like you!!

You worked on getting Ohio's Castle Doctrine passed (among other things)... every law-abiding person in Ohio owes you a debt of gratitude.

Those of us from other states thank you as well.

Thank you guys! I VERY MUCH appreciate your kudos.

After knowing about this for the past 3 months (I was sworn to secrecy until the NRA did the press release), I am still blown away that I would ever be recognized in this manner.

We at Buckeye Firearms have worked very very hard on gun laws in Ohio the past few years, and WOW, have we had great successes here. Goes to show what hard work and dedication will get us.

    Good stuff!!!!!!
