    From NRA-ILA:

Handgun bill silences Sebelius: The governor won't say whether she'll veto the concealed-carry bill, which passed both houses by wide margins.

TOPEKA -- A bill that would allow Kansans to carry concealed handguns is on its way to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

Under the bill, qualified Kansans could receive a four-year permit from a local sheriff, though carrying a hidden weapons still would be banned in some places, such as courthouses, churches and libraries.

The governor vetoed a similar bill in 2004 and said recently that she hasn't changed her mind, although she stopped short of saying she would veto the new bill.

Senators approved the measure on a 30-10 vote Wednesday, more than enough votes to override a veto.

On Tuesday, the bill passed the House 90-33, six more votes than needed to override a veto.

This lady is a politician from the womb. Below is an excerpt from an on-line reference site:

Kathleen Gilligan Sebelius (born May 15, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an American politician who is the current governor of Kansas. A Democrat, she became Kansas' 44th governor in 2003 after defeating Republican Tim Shallenburger in the election of 2002 by a vote of 53%-45%. Sebelius's victory was partially the result of a bitter divide between conservatives and moderates within the Kansas Republican Party. This divide is touched upon in Thomas Frank's bestseller What's the Matter with Kansas?. Since winning election Sebelius has successfully built upon her popularity and is now one of the most popular governors in the country.

Kathleen is the daughter of former Ohio governor John J. Gilligan. She and her father were the first father/daughter governor pair in the United States. She moved to Kansas in 1974, where she served for eight years as a representative in the state legislature and eight years as insurance commissioner before being elected governor. Sebelius was briefly mentioned as a possible running mate for 2004 Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, though Sebelius remained adamant that her governorship was the central and only focus of her political life. Her husband, Gary Sebelius, a federal magistrate judge, is the son of former Congressman Keith Sebelius. They have two sons, Ned (b. 1981) and John (b. 1984).

    An entire family!

But - she is a politician - and they "read the tea leaves" well...tee heh

Amazing ain't it - just like with WI - how one *&^%$#@ governor can thow a total wrench in the works, against what so many want and see as vital.

I hope she may just see sense this time - even if she deems it ''political'' sense.

This CCW deal is so overdue for KS.
