NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A judge has thrown out a lawsuit intended to keep Tennessee's new restaurant gun law from going into effect.

A group of restaurant owners went to court Monday to try and stop a new law that would let people carry handguns into restaurants that serve alcohol in the state.

The group was concerned that the law would create increased liability for businesses. They also believe the mixture of alcohol and weapon create a potentially deadly combination.

So, at midnight tonight, you can carry in restaurants that serve alcohol in Tennessee as long as you do not yourself imbibe! ETA: AND as long as the restaurant is not posted IAW Tennessee Code Annotated Chapter 39-17-1359.

If I didnt have to work in the morning, I'd drive to Tn just to walk in a restaurant after midnight. I've been waiting a long time for this.....

One thing the article did not mention; she did say she thought some of the arguments in the suit had potential merit, so she asked for parties to see her in ninety days. So, as usual, the media doesn't get it exactly right. :frown:

Im sure if its concealed its concealed. Ive been a couple of times and didnt have my permit at the time but there were no metal det. or wands or anything. Youll sit on wooden benchs kind of like church so you may be sitting kinda close to someone. Ill see if i can find out a more definate answer for you. Have fun.
