Worried about this civilian security force?
I do not have any official links to subject you to on this subject.
But I am getting very worried personally at this looming "Civilian security force".
"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" - B.H. Obama
How is this related to second amendment? Well that and the rest of our non observed by DC constitution.
For months now I have been digging and researching and discovering information ON MY OWN! Hence capital letters stressing that fact.
I have just witness Glenn Beck, yes I know he is radical to some and a godsend to others. Point being that what he was hitting on in his show today simply really just iced my cake that I have been baking on my own for months now.
I guess my desired direction for this thread would be:
What does the community, regardless of party affiliation feel about this situation? Is the threat real to us Americans? What is the threat that we need a security force internally from? And what can we do to stop this radical train of internal self nuclear meltdown that I truly believe could lead to a definite infringement or forced suppression of our rights?
Some say civil war, some say never, some say political revolution, and some say that we will succumb to this whether we like it or not?
Yes I believe this subject is truly related to our second amendment rights in addition to the rest of our beloved constitution.
Thoughts?

I think Obama was speaking on the Police forces in America.

This is a quote he made during the campaign, and clearly does not refer to just the existing police forces. He does want a civilian security force, undefined, to increase policing of ....whatever he chooses, I guess. I'm not reading too much into this, but it clearly demonstrates his tendency toward using the government to exert more control on the populace. Think of it as a PC Police, staffed by ACORN, and you get the picture he is painting.

I was fascinated, and appalled as I watched Glenn Beck cover this yesterday.
A lot of things come to mind and all of them seem to inter-connect. Tangoseal, you've put some time into this, do you think it's related to the issue of Right Wing Extremists and Janet Napolitano's little report?
Part of me thinks it's Obama's deep seated hatred of the white race, a bit of personal paranoia, and the feelings of some of the Czars he is surrounding himself with.
He has got to understand how the majority of the public feels about the Health Care issue and how much of a growing resistance there is to his plan. And that is only one of his socialist ideas that the public doesn't like. He strikes me as angry that the public isn't agreeing with many of his ideas, and I get a feeling that he's partially afraid that Congress may not shove his ideas through. Couple that with growing public events like the town hall meetings, tea parties and polls, and I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't compiling a "Plan B".
On the other hand the possibility exists(in my mind at least) that his very plan could easily backfire. How many of us would join a civilian force to stop some on the things he is trying to do? I'd bet there are quite a few. Is he setting the stage for a civil war, a race war or is he so narcissistic that he feels the need for a civilian force to protect himself?

I've been convinced that he wanted a personal army of brownshirts since his connections with ACORN were revealed.
I believe that starting a race war/class war is exactly what he has in mind. It is the perfect pretext for imposing martial law.
I remember 30 years ago laughing neo nazis claiming that we would eventually face a racial civil war.
I ain't laughing.

Me either Travis!
Sre you getting concerned or are you getting angry(like me)?
I'm seeing a lot of things he is doing that I really don't much care for

You beat me to the use of brown shirt; no doubt this force would be used to terrorize the opposition.

I think Glenn is hitting a nerve with the left. They have not refuted anything he says or any of his research. They are just trying frantically to shut him down. I think they are going to succeed unfortunately. I think they got 50 some advertisers to drop him already. It started with 10 or 11 companies who probably had liberals calling the advertising shots in the first place so they bought into the clipped sound bites. Now they are just using those companies for supposed proof of their argument while pressuring other companies. Many companies today do not have the courage to take a stand and risk bad press even though he has the highest rated news show in his time slot and the boy-cotters only have 100K signers to their petition. He is going to be labeled as inciting violence as they are already trying to do even though he repeatedly says that violence is not the answer and voting for new representation is the way (pretty much every show).
Predicting a thread closing in the near future.

Now with the death of Ted Kennedy, Obama and his minions are sure to push their agenda "for Teddy's sake".

he has put into everthing else we are in no danger !

I never quite understood what he meant by this during the campaign, it was one of many things that worried me about him.

We already have a civilian security force and it is clearly enumerated in our constitution:
"A well regulated MILITIA, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"......
Thats our civilian security force....had it for 200+ years
"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined". - Patrick Henry
