This is from todays news at the Arizona Citizens Defense League website:
HB 2074 signed by Governor!
HB 2074 (concealed weapons; training requirement; renewal) was signed by the Governor on April 17, 2006:
HB 2074 eliminates the renewal training requirement for CCW permits. It was amended in the Senate to provide nearly universal recognition of out-of-state CCW permits. The bill as amended passed the Senate and House and was transmitted to the Governor on 4/12/06. HB 2074 will become law 90 days after the Legislative Session ends.
AzCDL worked with the sponsor of HB 2074 prior to its introduction this legislative session. AzCDL was present at every hearing and, along with the NRA, tirelessly lobbied for passage of HB 2074. But, it was YOUR involvement and activism that turned HB 2074 into law.
HB 2074 is just one of a number of bills that we are working on. And, it doesn't stop here. Legislators view AzCDL as a representative of Arizona gun owners. We'll be working on new bills for next session. To be even more effective, we need your help – as members of AzCDL. Please join us and make a difference!

"He went on two legs, wore clothes and was a human being, but nevertheless he was in reality a wolf of the Steppes. He had learned a good deal . . . and was a fairly clever fellow. What he had not learned, however, was this: to find contentment in himself and his own life. The cause of this apparently was that at the bottom of his heart he knew all the time (or thought he knew) that he was in reality not a man, but a wolf of the Steppes."
Another sniff of common sense and logic - go AZ.
More of this is needed all over, as well as Castle Doctrine everywhere too.

So for those of us with AZ CCW's now, do we have to get new ones when ours would have expired?
It takes a college degree to break'em;
and a high school education to fix'em!
From what I see, just the training is eliminated, but still need to renew.Originally Posted by A1C Lickey

The info I recieved from AzCDL, the DPS has not come up w/the exact procedure yet but they will probably be sending out renewal packets as CCW's are coming up for renewal and you will need to fill out the application and send it in w/your $65.00 fee.

Don't let that bill fool you. Nappy is still anti gun and favors open borders. Election coming up in November we need a strong 2nd amendment person elected. Everyday more and more move into AZ wanting to change the life we have and make it like were they left
The way I get it is you can call dps for a renewal packet or get one from an instructor. Still have to pay your 65 bucks and get finger printed till 2010 then after 2010 you shouldn't need to be finger printed again as long as your cert doesn't expire which you have 60 days after the expiration date to get your packet in. If you run over that 60 day mark you will need to take the full class again and be finger printed just like it was your first time at doing the class. But that all could change. Be Safe Out There.
