And it's about dang time.
It's been passed down through Iowa Carry that the NRA is getting involved in our fight for shall issue and is working with IC with some proposed bills that will put us on par with most of the other shall issue states.
Initial bills can be seen HERE, for those that frequently travel to IA, this is good news for you as it does address the reciprocity issue.
There are some segments in IA that feel the NRA sponsored bill(s) still give too much power to the Gov't and that we should not settle for anything less than Alaska / Vt style carry laws. While this would be fabulous, with the current and past battles on getting shall issue passed, non regulated carry has about a snowballs chance in hell of getting through the legislature, there are currently only two states that have such laws, while it would be great for Iowa to be the third, it is by far too "scary" for our anti-gun state government to swallow. The NRA sponsored bills are a step in the right direction and is by far better than the current legislation.
The NRA can't help Iowa without it's national member base, if you are a member, please stay one. If you are not a member, you should take a look at becoming one.
Iowa needs all the help we can get. :comeandgetsome:
For those that wanted to chip in on supplying Lima with a P3AT, here's your chance to help us out where we need it by joining/renewing with the NRA or by donating to Iowa Carry.
