EDITORIAL: Guns decrease murder rates - Washington Times

This was a good editorial Thursday in the Washington Times. Even some in DC get it! (just not the politicians apparently...)

    Hard to twist these facts...

"A telling story is illustrated by the murder numbers since the handgun ban and gun-lock bans were struck down. Between 2008 and 2009, the FBI's preliminary numbers indicate that murders fell nationally by 10 percent and by about 8 percent in cities that have between 500,000 and 999,999 people. Washington's population is about 590,000. During that same period of time, murders in the District fell by an astounding 25 percent, dropping from 186 to 140. The city only started allowing its citizens to own handguns for defense again in late 2008."

Don't confuse the "Times" w/ the "Post"

I'm just one root in a grassroots organization. No one should assume that I speak for the VCDL.

I am neither an attorney-at-law nor I do play one on television or on the internet. No one should assumes my opinion is legal advice.

Sadly, it will fall on deaf ears. Politicians have ego's so large that they don't recognize the facts when they're thrown in their face's. Liberals blame republican's for being out of touch with reality while they try and create their idea of a perfect world with our money. Mostly they need to be shaken and slapped until they understand that criminals will not, have not and by definition, do not obey laws no matter how well intentioned or how reasonable they seem to legislators. Political candidates should have to pass a test proving their understanding of this concept before they would be eligible to run for any office. It's time for a change!

    Indeed.
The Times is a responsible paper. The Post is an arm on the democratic party.

Isn't the Times owned by the same family that owns Kahr Arms?

    Not any more:
On November 30, 2009 the New York Times reported that the Washington Times would no longer be receiving funds from the Unification Church and might have to cease publication or go to online publication only.
In December 2009 the Times announced it would lay off 40% of its 370 employees and stop subscription service, instead distributing the paper free in some areas of Washington including branches of the government.

So without the influx of cash from the Unification church, it's RIP, Washington Times.
