Since I didn't want to wait to hear the results, I emailed corporate. This is their response.

"Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding our photo content policy. It is not Walgreens policy to reject printing of photos including "firearms", rather a judgment call that is being investigated and addressed with he customer involved. Walgreens does however have the right to deny the printing of photos pertaining sexual content. Walgreens does not intervene in any other situation involving the content of a customer's order. If an employee is uncomfortable printing any image because of its content, he or she may request that another employee process those particular images."

So, I guess the manager felt uncomfortable and told all his employees that they also felt uncomfortable.

I fired off a response to them asking if it was corporate policy or one managers policy and maybe they need to find his employment offensive since he has very likely caused them to lose a lot of money

    Talking Gun Photos

    I sent this:

    Wallgreens Anti-Gun Photo Policy

    Dear Sirs:

I have been informed by some friends that Wallgreens will not print photos of guns if I send them. If this is true, I find your policy of refusing to print photos of firearms offensive and insulting.

As a believer in the Bill Of Rights I find your censorship of a persons photos, by employees, to be discrimination against gun owners is an attack on my first amendment right to free speech.

I realize that it is your right to refuse service however I am requesting that you change your policy and educate your employees of our right to keep and bear arms and issue a public statement to all that you do believe in the 2nd Amendment or I will be forced to take my business somewhere else.

    Sincerely;

    Nnnnnnn nnnnnnnnnn

    Dear Stephen,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding our photo content policy.

It is not a Walgreens policy to reject printing of photos including "firearms" , rather a judgment call that is being investigated and addressed with the customer involved.

Walgreens does however have the right to deny the printing of sexual content.

Walgreens does not intervene in any other situation involving the content of a customer's order.

If an employee is uncomfortable printing any image because of its content, he or she may request that another employee process those particular images.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact us with your comments. We hope to serve you in the future.

    Sincerely,

I don't understand how somebody can be insulted by a gun. On its own, its just as benign as any other metal/plastic object. I bet they've printed things much more offensive, considering what some people like taking pictures of. It is so strange to me that somebody could find a gun "offensive." But what isn't offensive these days?

I got this email from Walgreen's customer service rep by e-mail...

Thank you for contacting Walgreens.com customer service.
This is in response to your email regarding your photo order.

I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Just
so you know, any images submitted by individuals are subject to
review and examination by Walgreens. Your local Walgreens
reserves the right in their sole and absolute discretion to
refuse to process or post any materials deemed objectionable by
Walgreens and other participating vendors. Again, I do
    apologize for the inconvenience.
