McDonald et. al. v City of Chicago

I see that SCOTUS has agreed to give the NRA 10 minutes of Alan Gura's time in oral argument before the court. NRA's petition was opposed by Gura (atty for plaintiff). Several other petitioners (states) were denied. I'd like to hear opinions on this. I hope NRA will not muddy up the issue/Gura's argument as in the "too many chefs spoil the broth" maxim.
Or is it more likely that NRA will put forth a stronger argument for incorporation?

Gura's approach has been to keep the issue focused and avoid mine fields.

    Good success so far.

Sure hope the NRA doesn't open a can of worms.

I'm hoping that this unusual turn of events will give SCOTUS two roads to pick from on their route to incorporation. I think it's like having two identical cases on the docket, so it in effect doubles our chances. Unless they get in some kind of spitting match of course.

The thing that worries me more about this case than the gun issue is this:

If the S.C. rules for Chicago, that sets precedence for a state/city govt. to override any Constitutional right. It won't rule "for gun issues only" but will determine that city/state govt's can pass rules above and beyond the limits of the Constitution.

Another reason it will be a win, large or small, but definitely not a lose.
