Do you think that the Government is going to take your guns?
While I see some politicians always wanting to take them, I don't foresee it happening. The tide is shifting, more gun owners are speaking out. Look at the surge in gun sales the last election brought about. Politicians may be dumb, but they know what will put them back on the street where they have to get an honest job.
Freedom doesn't come free. It is bought and paid for by the lives and blood of our men and women in uniform.

As BigStick said, I think some politicians will keep trying, but we can't forget that many a congressman has large numbers of gun owning constituents, and they know what would happen to the gun vote if they advocated taking them away. They need votes.

Speaking of a resulting civil war, I've always wondered, if an order to remove all guns from legally possessing citizens was issued, how many individuals within law enforcement would refuse to carry that order out. How many local, state, and federal LEO's privately own firearms themselves?

They will keep trying, but wont happen. The political face of America is changing, for the worst it seams, but look at what the "Tea Parties" have done this past year, and there is alot of 2AM support in groups like that. As long as we have the constitution we will have the right!
