It's the only one big enough to have influence on the national level. I don't agree with everything they do, but without them we would be in a totally different world regarding 2A, imho.

You can opt out of their mailing, etc. I've been with them for a few years and all I get is their magazine and a membership renewal prior to newal time. Nothing else.

Do you have a regional organizations that works in your behalf or works with the NRA? Might look into that too.

YES. They are a iron fist for our 2nd amendment rights. Every gun owner should join.

I have been a life member for a number of years. If it wasn't for the NRA this forum probably would not be in existence.

Some like them and some don't. They are the most influential defenders of the 2nd Ammendment that we have right now. If you don't care for them for whatever reason, than at least join SOME gun rights group. GOA or 2nd Ammendment Foundation are two choices.

    Just my thoughts on this.

They are the best weapon we have in the fight for our rights. They do send some junk mail and they do try to sell you some stuff but all you gotta do is say no. It is a pretty inexpensive magazine subscription for a good magazine.

Yes it is; and every gun owner should join it! Many people complain about getting a lot of mail and junk email, but you can choose not to get them; although I have been member for years I only get the magazines and membership renewal when it is time.

I have belonged to the NRA for several years. I like their publications and the work they do. However, last evening I got one of those political calls from the NRA. The caller then said please hold for this recorded message. After listening for a moment to what seemed rather lengthy, I gave up. Geez! I don't have time to listen to unsolicited tape recordings.

No disrespect to the NRA is intended, but in my opinion that went too far.

I cannot imagine any gun owner not being a member.

I've been a life member since the early 70s.

I think it's a good organization and one of only a few that supports 2nd amendment rights. They don't send any junk mail to me, just American Rifleman.
