They call the local police, of course, then their SAC, then the FBI hierarchy, stopping at the Director's office. The calls get harder as you progress up the chain of command.
This agent is looking at some unpaid vacation time, at least.
Most people agree that on-duty LEOs can carry wherever they want outside of a penal institution (although I have heard of one hospital ER that banned them after a prisoner got the LEO's gun AND THE CHIEF WENT ALONG WITH THE BAN), but, assuming no laws to the contrary, don't off-duty LEOs have to respect the law and property owner's rules the same as everybody else? For that matter, can a property owner tell an on-duty LEO, "No guns allowed" if the LEO is not on official business?
Maybe he knew that he was going have to use the restaurant MENS ROOM and never read our informative and instructional DefensiveCarry "How Do I Pee In A Public Bathroom While Armed?" thread - so he figured he had best just leave his Glock in the car. :hand5:

I couldnt imagine what would happen if I got my gun stolen. I'm sure I wouldnt get in to much trouble with admin, but the guys would never let me forget it.
We had a county sheriff's SWAT team member who left his MP5 lying on the back seat of his personal car, parked on the street downtown, while he attended a baseball game last year. Needless to say, it wasn't there when he came back. :hand5:
