NC's open carry laws used to have a reciprocating law stating that if anyone saw your open carry and became offended or frightened, s/he could call the police and you would be arrested. You could carry, but if someone didn't like it...you were goin' to jail. I dunno if KY has a similar law on the books or not, but irregardless...I wouldn't ever carry open. This is not the wild west. We live in a time where "bad guys" attack out of convenience (i.e. - back alleys in the middle of the night). If you're carrying a firearm on your person for the world to see, you will appear cowboy-ignorant. If your face looks stupid or if bystanders hear you use ignorant language then you are perpetuating an ever growing fear and resentment of people who carry firearms on their person.
