Well, my LCP is heading back today for it's second trip to Ruger. After looking at the
recall site and reading posts here about the "diamond" stamp, I decided to contact Ruger as my recall returned LCP did not come back with a diamond:

After talking with a customer service rep, she said that their records did indeed indicate that it had been repaired but since this was a safety issue they wanted me to return it a second time (on their dime) to confirm that the work had actually been completed. I feel confident that it was just a slip-up as far as stamping the diamond but I've got to commend Ruger for their commitment to making sure the gun is safe. With two round trips out of their pocket, it may have been cheaper for them to just give me a new gun to begin with.
