ppk recall
I'm new to this group, so Hello all. I own a PPK/S that I purchased just over a year ago. It provided me with many headaches until I reached the 1000 round mark. It has become flawless and I really like this firearm as a carry piece. That said, I remain somewhat confused over the wording of the recall notice from S&W.
My interpretation is as follows: "When the manuel safety is disengaged (ie, in the fire position), S&W's product engineering group has determined that the possibility exists in certain firearms that lowering the hammer (ie, using the safety/decocking lever) may cause a chambered round to fire." Since I shoot left-handed, I never use the safety/decocker. On the rare occasion that I lower the hammer on a loaded chamber, I lower it manually with my thumb.
On that basis, I don't see any reason to have the modification done.
Is there anything wrong with this interpretation?
