+1 as far as the steel/metal handle. I have had a few instances of slippage. I always look for something with G10 handles or something similar to keep the grip good. I also like having the finger curve verses straight edge handle.

Checkout the Kershaw line. The junkyard dog knife is pretty good for the price.
