The reason we know they would chose HP ammo is the same reason they can't use it. It was deemed too deadly, the UN wants bullets that increase pass through and reduce the damage the projectile does on its way through the body.

Also if you've never heard of anyone continuing to fight after being shot with a FMJ then my guess is your not researching your ammo selection enough.

For my 1911 I use Federal Premium Expanding FMJ. I use it because I know it feeds reliably in the gun and still have the expansion of a JHP. An average FMJ makes a .45 inch hole in the target and Expanding FMJ or a JHP makes roughly a .89 inch hole.

I wouldn't want to be shot with either but if I'm going to trust my life to a EDC ammo I'm going to select the one that works reliably and makes the largest hole.
