True, but it's much easier to store the same data in multiple locations. I've given copies of the discs to each of my kids. Unlikely that all three of our houses would be destroyed at the same time. I also store mine in a small fire rated box inside my fire rated gun safe. Should improve my chances of it coming through in tact.
