I have never had any problems at either Lowes or WalMart.

But, as for WalMart specifically, I recall reading somewhere that the WalMart Corporate Policy was to follow the State laws regarding firearms. This means that the local store management has no say in it and if it is legal then they have to allow it.

I would call WalMart Corporate rather than talking to the store.
