If you don't account for the advances in technology then why carry hollow points in 9mm at all. Once upon a time they were quite all ineffective in general. But not now. The technology has advanced "Leaps and Bounds" since then. I only even continue this discussion because I feel your choice of ammo is more important in 9mm than say .45. Of course this is all secondary to the ability to put your shots where they need to be. Hell... if you can place your shots COM every time... well then use what you want.
