Why not a Kel-Tec sub-2000 folding carbine in 9mm?
That would give you a nice layer of antipersonnel capability with again mag exchasnge with a handgun. You can get it in Glock. And after market Glock Ultra Hi-Cap 33rd mags are readily available. So you could have multi-layered defensive abilities and small game killing power as well out to about 130 meters.
