Correct. The extra play in the holster to belt will make the holster move up and down and in and out. Not a great combo if your trying to keep it concealed. It can also impact your grasp and draw due to the holster being in different positions.

Note: Should matter less with an IWB vs OWB. All my belts are 1.5 or 1.75 inches.
