The SKS, in it's original configuration, is an utterly reliable and quite accurate semi-auto battle rifle. They weren't designed to use removable magazines, but there are many aftermarket mags out there.

The ONLY one I have had good results from is the USA brand. They work most of the time in most SKS's.

You can't go wrong with a SKS, but if you're looking for a MBR with easy mag swap capability, get an AK47 or AR15.
