There is one possible pitfall if you go with a collapsible stock on a home defense weapon. Most collapsible stocks have a bunch of different lengths. If you collapse the stock for storage, it can be difficult to deploy it to just the length you want in a hurry (unless you regularly use the maximum length). You're either left fiddling with it in a dangerous situation, or stuck using it at a length you've never practiced with. If this is going to be a weapon you might need in a hurry, just keep the stock at the proper setting and don't mess with it.
