Usually right under your support side armpit (or an inch or so below) with the muzzle slightly canted up works best for most folks.

You'll probably have lots of extra harness strap leather...so once you get your holster positioned exactly where you want it then cut off that extra leather strapping.

You probably will not need a tie-down on the holster side.
If you bend forward you just clamp your arm closer to your body a bit if your holster is tipping forward a little but, with a good harness it really won't move much.

A tie down on the strong side is optional.
It depends on how your harness system is designed.
I usually set my extra mags so that they are about halfway between the strong side pit and the belt.
