OH,

It's largely covered although to what degreed can vary depending on the height of the belt you choose to have made (two choices) and the size of the trigger guard on your specific sidearm.
With my own 1911s across four different guns in one Beltster half have had a different relative amount of trigger exposed. None though showed enough trigger material to be in any way a problem toward snagging on anything.
The trigger as a whole and to a ~97% degree is not exposed, and that is on the two that have any exposure what so ever.
