New MTAC holster - feel stupid

I have never carried IWB, so that said, I have never used an IWB holster. Since I have decided to carry IWB mostly, and now own a CTAC MTAC IWB holster, I wanted to test it out while measuring for a gun belt.

My holster came with the "standard" CTAC belt clips. Black plastic clips that loop up and over the waistband and have a small outward curl at the bottom.

While testing for fit and comfortable carry rake and position, I decided to test the draw and re-holster capability making sure my pant waist band wasnt covering the holster entry and the belt tightness wouldnt interfere with my draw.

I place my hand on my weapon, gave a firm pull upwards, and to my surprise the whold damn holster came out in all its glory still hugging my gun!

I thought, WTH?!?

What I didnt realize is that the curls on the ends of the clips are designed to loop UNDER your belt so the holster stays put!

In other words, the holster goes inside your pants with the clips looped over your waistband. Your belt then goes on OVER the holster clips making sure the curled ends will come up against your belt when you draw your weapon.

I felt like such a dummy!

So, to all you other IWB newbies, make sure you figure out your holster design PRIOR to carry! That could have been a costly mistake if I had been in a bad position.
