I use the Blackhawk CQC (non-retention version) for IDPA and I think it is great. Since a number of people around here use the Blackhawk as their OWB holster for various firearms, I think it's a very good choice. One of the nice things about the CQC (and, I think, all Blackhawk holsters) is that you get both belt-slide and paddle backings. I use the paddle with no problems whatsoever.

If you are concerned about the finish on the gun, Safariland (among others) makes felt/suede lined kydex...
