I am guessing a few months back. I ordered three sets for different holsters. I even use a set for my Crossbreed. I don't know if Comp-Tac switched to the fatter ones due to an issue - but I have not had any. Maybe it was just a mix up - shoot them an email.
Also, as long as the velcro is getting a good bite on the belt side - it should hold a fair amount of weight. I am suspecting the velcro that was sewn on to the belt may not be thick enough to get that bite. Just guessing. I utilize the adhesive type that was sent with the clips and all works fine.
