I have no personal experience using OC against a dog. However, I have a close friend who is an animal-control officer who goes through a can about every 1-2 weeks. Basically, his experience has been that it works okay on a "mean" dog (one that will bite you because it's territorial, or scared, etc.) but not on a "vicious" dog (one that is actually attacking with intent).
