Federal .45 ACP 185gr +p

I went to the range this morning. I shot a 30 round bullseye course with my G23 .40SW. I did well.

Next I shot my G30 .45ACP. I shot to the right a good bit. So I adjusted the rear sights and was dead on. I was using Federal 185gr +p loads that a friend had given to me. No sense buying ammo when I had some already.

It actually didn't feel too bad while I was shooting it. I went through 100 rounds. Then I shot my 23 again and it felt like a little .22. So I guess those Federal +p loads are pretty hot. I actually spread out my grouping a little bit at 25 yards with the 23 due to the fact that my hand was shaking just a little bit from the .45s.

I know that I will get good COM shots with the +p loads in my 30. But is it really necessary? I was considering maybe just getting some Speer GD 230gr for the 30.
