I had a FOBUS paddle mag carrier and you are right it is cheap. Rarely used it.
Many makers have mag carriers that clip on, whcih are easy one and off the belt.
I have several from, K&D, Black Hills, High Noon and I'm happy with them. If you truly need it to be a paddle attachment, call Kevin at K&D, he could probably make one up for you.
