Indeed. The courses I posted reflect only the speed and accuracy minimum standards a given shooter must be able to perform, on demand, to keep the job. There is much more to it.

Maybe. It is certainly the party line among many trainers. And while it is true that much of a an Academy firearms instructor's time is spent coding over bad habits with good ones, many (most?) of the Academy's best shooters arrived that way.
It all comes down to the habits...aquiring good ones is a advantage; bad ones a disadvantage. Knowing which are which is the million dollar question.

Indeed, I agree with all this, as there are exceptions to every rule; the shooter that walks through the door a good shooter is the exception.
