I wrestled with standard pressure v. +P when deciding on carry ammo for my 1911.
Looking at the Federal HST 230gr, +P offers an additional 60FPS and 57 foot/pounds.

While that doesn't seem like much, since handguns are the weak sisters of firearms and the .45 is marginal when it comes to HP velocity, I went for all I could get.

In the HST, the price is the same, my 1911 is rated for it and recoil is not much different, so why not?
