My experience as well. MTAC "C" clips shave the thin edge material right off the belt. I've been coloring the edge with a permanent black marker as it peels away.
I also have a reinforced kydex belt from Looper Letaher, but it isn't as stiff as the 5.11 belt. I prefer the extra stiffness of the 5.11 so I use it for my everday belt.
